Job Description

Our client, a top seller and distributor of motorcycles and parts in Luanda, Angola, is looking for a General Manager to direct daily business operations, overseas multiple departments and help implement strategic initiatives to drive growth and profitability. The key duties include budgeting, hiring and training staff, optimizing operational efficiency, managing performance metrics (KPIs), and ensuring compliance with regulations.

JOB: General Manager

Reporting to:  Managing Director

Location:   Luanda, Angola

Contract Duration: 1-3 years with option of renewal

Working hours: Mon-Friday: 8:00-6:00pm

Salary: $2000 plus other company benefits

The role is open to all African Nationalities preferably Angola/Kenyan/Ugandan

Requirements

  • Academic: Bachelor Degree in Business/Engineering
  • Experience: 5 +years of experience in managerial position in automobile industry
  • Skills:
    • Proven experience as a General Manager, operations Manager, or similar executive role.
    • Leadership and decision making: Have the ability to lead the company’s team and make critical decisions on behalf of the company.
    • Communication: Communicate effectively while managing staff and stakeholders.
    • Financial Acumen: Be proficient in budgeting and analyzing the company’s financial reports
    • Clearing and forwarding: Have experience in clearing and forwarding for importation of containers from the seaports to warehouses.
    • Strong organizational and project management skills.
    • Knowledge of industry regulations, standards and best practices.
    • Proficient in business management software and tools such as SAP or SAGE.

Core Duties and responsibilities

  • Operational Leadership: The GM will be responsible for managing daily business operations, enhancing productivity, and improving process across departments, such as operation department, sales department, finance department, production department and service department.
  • Strategic Planning: The GM will be responsible of developing and executing long-term business strategies to achieve the company goals.
  • Financial Management: GM will be responsible of creating and managing the company budgets while optimizing expenses so to improve the company’s revenue.
  • Human Resources and staffing: GM will oversee the recruitment, in charge of training while overseeing the performance evaluation and team development.
  • Stakeholder Relationships: GM will be in charge of managing the relationship between the suppliers, partners and clients.
